Whether your vice is a smoke with an early morning coffee, a late night sugar fix, too many beers with the boys, a drug fueled weekend, an expensive spending spree, or too much time spent perched at the pokies: we all need to enjoy life, but what happens when it gets out of control? According to New Scientist magazine, Vol 316, Hypnosis is the most effective way to stop smoking. A meta sudy of over 70,000 smokers was conducted and the results were conclusive.
Hypnosis has proven success rates for addictions: in clinical trials in the US, of twenty-one patients who received 3-4 sessions of hypnosis for smoking cessation, 81% reported they had stopped smoking, and 48% reported abstinence at 12 months post-treatment*. Eighteen clients treated for alcohol, cocaine and marijuana addictions showed a 77% success rate for at least a 1-year follow-up**.
